Foxcroft Fields 17 All-GPAC Athletes and Tennis’ Conference Coach of the Year

Foxcroft’s fall varsity sports teams all had very successful seasons, with several teams receiving State tournament berths and all varsity teams boasting multiple All Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC) athletes.
Capping off another winning season (10-3) with a Conference Championship and a #6 Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division II finish, Varsity Tennis not only saw Head Coach Michael Ryon receive All-Conference Coach of the Year but also six players receive all-conference accolades. Those players included First-Team athletes Vassiliki M. ’23 (played at #1 position, 4-1 conference record) and Adri A. ’25 (played at #2 position, 5-1 conference record). Second-Team honors went to Caroline C. ’24 and Elizabeth V. ’24, and Caylen L. ’23 and Juliana R. ’24 received All-GPAC Honorable Mentions.

Varsity Field Hockey (6-4) also found themselves at #6 in the final VISAA DII rankings. Narrowly losing their state quarterfinal game in a shootout, the team produced five all-conference First-Team athletes, including senior co-captains Lucy M. (team leader in goals/assists), Isabelle M. (outsmarts opponents regularly on offense and defense), and Olivia W. (lightning fast and responsible for organizing the defense). Junior Rocky C., one of the best goalies in Division II, played lights out in the conference semi-final game making two exceptional saves leading to a win, and sophomore Flora W., who constantly looks to put her teammates in scoring positions, rounded out the First-Team selections.

Varsity Volleyball finished a competitive season (7-7) with four players recognized as All-GPAC athletes. First-Team honors went to seniors Kat W. (set school record with 206 kills in 18 matches, led in digs with 211 and blocks with 16) and Guilia V. (set school record in serve success rate and service points earned with 195, led the team in assists with 199 and with a 95% serve success rate and a mind-blowing 4.5 ace-to-error ratio). All-GPAC Honorable mentions were received by Eva C. ’24 and Hayley B. ’25.

Cross Country had two runners finish in the top 10 at the GPAC Conference Meet, qualifying them as All-GPAC athletes. Emily W. ’23 finished 4th with a time of 22:54.32, and Caroline W. ’26 finished 9th with a time of 24:12.23. Both have improved their times significantly throughout the season (Emily by 5:15 and Caroline by 14:10).

Congratulations to all of our teams and athletes on a stellar fall season!
