Foxcroft Riders Find Success at Lexington Spring Premiere

Foxcroft riding was represented by a handful of talented jumper riders at the first rated competition adventure of the season. Two seniors, a sophomore, and a freshman formed the group that traveled to the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington to compete at the Lexington Spring Premiere horse show during the last week of April.
While we might have missed the pomp and circumstance of competing in the hunter rings, we had plenty of fun embracing the excitement of galloping around the spacious DeeDee jumper ring in a variety of classes. These riders showcased smooth riding and thoughtful communication with their equine partners as they added ribbons of all colors to the Foxcroft banner.

The riders' time in the tack was educational, as well as successful, and each rider had several excellent rounds. With Sierra and Irene contesting the biggest tracks to date of their showing experiences and Georgia and Cierra showcasing what they have accomplished with their leased horses to the owners who were there to spectate, it was a show that tested the riders' concentration and their skills, and each of them rose to the challenge beautifully!  Results were as follows:

Georgia R. '22: Pre Ch/Ad Jumper .85m — 8th, 8th, and 2nd in the Classic
Sierra J. '22: Pre Ch/Ad Jumper .85m — 5th, 5th, and 9th in the Classic
Irene B. '24: 1.10m Training Jumper — 7th; High Children's Jumper 1.10m — 7th, 5th, and 5th in the Classic
Cierra C. '25: Low Children/Adult Jumper 1.00m — 1st & 5th

Some non-riding highlights of the week included meeting Sierra's grandparents who drove up from Southwest Virginia to see her compete, exploring the vast grassy areas of the cross country course while hand walking the horses at night check, and some spirited and silly conversations at our group meals. As always, it was a pleasure to travel with and train the Foxcroft riders, and we are looking forward to the next adventures!
