Jodi Campbell joined Foxcroft as Dean of Students in July 2022. Ms. Campbell has outstanding experience working with girls in boarding schools. She comes to Foxcroft from The Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN, where she served as Director of Social, Emotional, and Academic Development. In this role, she developed and oversaw an SEL-based advisory program; implemented DEI initiatives, mediation programs to address student conflicts, and leadership programs; coordinated all student clubs and affinity groups; and created wellness lessons, among many initiatives. She was Head of the middle school girls’ dormitory as well as a member of the history department.
Prior to The Webb School, she was Academic Dean and Director of College Counseling at Squaw Valley Academy in Olympic Valley, CA, where she also taught social studies. Her previous teaching experiences span high school and college-level courses at Sage Ridge School (Reno, NV); Wesley College (Dover, DE); and The University of Guelph (Ontario).
Ms. Campbell earned a B.A. in Early American History from Dickinson College, an M.A. in British history, with a certificate in Museum studies, from University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. (ABD) in history from University of Guelph. A life-long learner, she continues her studies and professional development having earned a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and a certificate in Social Emotional and Character Development from Rutgers University. She has attended many programs in mindfulness, responsive classrooms, successful advisories, and navigating social media and technology positively.
She and her dog Sassafras (a “spoiled min-pin mix rescue”) are glad to be back on the East Coast where they are closer to her family in Delaware. She loves to travel and is always planning her next trip, reading historical fiction, or cheering on the Yankees.
Catherine Massar brings a wealth of experience to her role as Foxcroft’s Associate Dean for Student Experience and Lead Dorm Parent in Stuart Hall. Since 2011, she has held a variety of positions at the high school and college level. She started her career in international admissions at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Bentley University. After moving to Virginia, Ms. Massar served as Dean of College Counseling at Middleburg Academy and then as Program Specialist and 8th Period Coordinator at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, where she oversaw all aspects of extracurricular activities for 1,800 students and 120 faculty members and coordinated parent volunteers, among other responsibilities. Most recently, while staying at home with her young children, she has been an outside admissions reader for Bentley.
Ms. Massar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Central Florida and an M.Ed. in International Education Policy and Management from Vanderbilt University.
Catherine is living in Stuart Hall with her husband and three children.
Michelle Woodruff is the Director of Athletics and the Head Field Hockey Coach at Foxcroft School. She is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year and has over 20 years of experience in independent school education and athletics. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. Outside of work she enjoys tennis, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
