Mairin Wood is the Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director at Foxcroft School. Prior to her appointment at Foxcroft, Wood served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Washington and Lee University, also working as the COVID-19 Care Manager in the 2020-2021 academic year. Before working at Washington and Lee, Wood served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Ferrum College, and as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Belmont Abbey College (NC). Wood graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Longwood University as a Cormier Citizen Scholar and Honors College graduate.
Wood is a BOC Certified and Virginia State Licensed Athletic Trainer. Wood is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association (MAATA), and the Virginia Athletic Trainers' Association (VATA). Wood holds emergency cardiac care and first aid certification through the American Red Cross.
A graduate of a fellow Virginia all-girls boarding school, Wood hopes to utilize her personal experiences as a boarding student to serve the Foxcroft community. Outside of work she enjoys competitive Irish dancing, taking long walks with her dog, and spending time with family and friends.
Michelle Woodruff is the Director of Athletics and the Head Field Hockey Coach at Foxcroft School. She is a four-time Conference Coach of the Year and has over 20 years of experience in independent school education and athletics. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary. Outside of work she enjoys tennis, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
