School Leadership

My hope for Foxcroft is to keep dreaming, just like Miss Charlotte did over a century ago. We must remain committed to girls’ education to ensure that generations of girls to come can benefit from Miss Charlotte’s original vision.

— Dr. Lisa Kaenzig, Head of SchooL

A Message from Head of School Lisa Kaenzig

Dear Foxcroft School Community,

Welcome to Foxcroft School! I am delighted that you are learning more about everything that our special Foxcroft community has to offer. In 1914, our founder Miss Charlotte dreamed about opening a school that "girls would want to come to and hate to leave because they loved it." Over a century later, I believe that founding vision lives on today in the School’s mission to help each girl explore her unique voice and develop the skills, confidence, and courage to share it with the world.

I invite you to come visit us at our beautiful 500-acre campus in Middleburg and see our mission in action. Foxcroft girls learn and live together in an exciting and inclusive environment, making connections with peers from across the country and the globe with support and mentoring by expert faculty who teach how girls learn best. There is something for everyone, and when girls have an interest or a passion for something unique, they demonstrate leadership by starting new clubs, educating the community on causes they are passionate about during Morning Meetings, or proposing trips or service opportunities that fill our weekends. Each day as I walk around our thriving campus, I see our girls living Foxcroft’s values of respect, integrity, kindness, and service, through their interactions with one another and those around them. They have a considered thoughtfulness for each individual in our community and spend much of their time dedicated to helping others.

In my first year as Foxcroft’s Head of School, I am experiencing a long-held dream of mine manifesting itself. After more than two decades as a college dean of women, I am enjoying sharing much of what I learned with our Foxcroft girls. It is our shared goal as a community of teachers and learners to ensure that each one of our girls has every possible skill and experience to ready them for their collegiate years ahead. This School is such a special place, and I am proud to call Foxcroft home. I look forward to sharing all that Foxcroft has to offer, to learning about your dreams, and to continuing this journey together.

Sincerely,
