Charlotte MacDonald ’12 was a force on the field hockey and lacrosse teams at Foxcroft throughout her four years. Then she continued as a field hockey player at Washington and Lee, winning the Coaches Award in her junior year. As Team Captain in her final year, she led her squad to win the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season and to a conference final for the first time since 2005. She was named a member of the 2015 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Senior All-Star team. Charlotte returned to Foxcroft after graduation to be an Assistant Field Hockey coach and helped take the 2016 team to the DAC Championships.

She was a travel coach for the local Rapids Field Hockey Team and a commissioner for the Potomac Field Hockey Youth Recreational League. She grew the program through coaching, organizing leagues, and recruiting new players. She also became a Region 7 selector for the National Futures Tournaments, scouting for skilled players. In 2017, she joined Shenandoah University as an assistant field hockey coach. In 2018, she moved over to Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, and in 2019, she became the head coach at Castleton University in Vermont. Her final coaching move was to Wilkes College in Pennsylvania, where she coached from 2021 to 2022.
