“Wishing on a Star” Fall Revue Enchants Family Weekend Audience
In a standing-room-only FoxHound Auditorium, a packed audience of parents, grandparents, siblings, and family members joined the Foxcroft community for the “Wishing on a Star” fall musical revue. This magical evening of song was centered around hopes and dreams as talented student performers took the stage to sing, dance, and inspire.
Theatre Production Class and Chorale opened the evening with “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Disney’s animated movie Pinocchio, and the acts that followed stayed true to this enchanting theme. Soloists chose songs ranging from powerful ballads to whimsical asides, including ZoraNelle B. ’26 (“Stars Fell on Alabama”), Katarina S. ’26 (“The Moon and Me” from The Addams Family), Poppy M. ’27 (“Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from The Phantom of the Opera), Valentina D. ’26 (“Dreams” by Stevie Nicks), Ava D. ’26 (“Talking to the Moon” by Bruno Mars), Cam F. ’27 (“Dream a Little Dream of Me”), and Raven L. ’26 (“Corner of the Sky” from Pippin).
Choreographed dance numbers included Dance Company performing to Van Morrison’s “Moodance” and the senior duo of Priscilla C. and Anais P. to Souler’s “A Sky Full of Stars.”
The Class of 2029 took the stage for the first time as Foxcroft students, singing “When I Am Older” from Frozen. In addition to being part of the opening act, Chorale also performed “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, and the Theatre Production Class gave a raucous rendition of “I’ve Got a Dream” from Disney’s Tangled. The show concluded with the entire company performing the classic hit “Fly Me To The Moon.”
