Varsity Lacrosse's Michaela W. ’27 and Charlotte T. ’28 Receive All-State Honors

Two Foxcroft athletes —  Varsity Lacrosse’s Michaela W. ’27 and Charlotte T. ’28 — have received Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) All-State Division II Second Team honors.

As Division II VISAA All-State Second Team honorees for Lacrosse, “Michaela and Charlotte were critical to the success of our team," shared Coach Michelle Woodruff. "Michaela’s quickness in the cage and ability to track the ball were key for us. She was Co-Player of the Year for the Conference and was named Second Team All-State and First Team All-Conference, as well as our Co-MVP. Charlotte was our leading goal scorer, our leader in ground balls, and our leader in draw controls. She was the offensive and defensive engine of our team. She was named Second Team All-State, First Team All-Conference, and was our Co-MVP. It is hard to put into words how important both of these players were to the team’s outstanding season. They are accomplished young players and are so deserving of their All-State selection.”

Voting for the All-State teams is conducted by a special committee of coaches for each sport. Coaches nominate players from their teams, and while an athlete does not have to play in the state tournament to be eligible, it is difficult for a player to earn All-State honors if the committee members have not seen her.
