Sara W. ’25 and Ms. Campbell are Foxcroft's February Everyday Heroes!

Sara W. ’25 and Ms. Campbell are Foxcroft's February Everyday Heroes!

We are excited to share that Sara W. ’25 and Dean of Students Jodi Campbell received our February Everyday Hero Awards!

The Everyday Hero Award Committee received 23 nominations for this month’s awards, which shows that so many community members are doing great things. All who take the time to nominate people are also great examples of our values. Committee members (Mrs. McGehee, Dr. Hyatt, Ms. Campbell, Mrs. Davis, Ms. Meinheit, Mrs. McCrehin, Ms. Page, Mrs. Saunders, Tashae’ A. ’25, Student Head of School; and class presidents: Kyla P. ’26; Michaela W. ’27; and Cate H. ’28) reviewed the nominations and the announcement of winners at Morning Meeting was met with much cheering and applause!

Before revealing Sara as the student winner, Student Head of School Tashae’ A. ’25 shared quotes from the nominations.

“Sara starts every Morning Meeting with music and happiness and leads us in uplifting affirmations or other positive, interactive activities,” shared one nominator. “She is always smiling, looking out for other students, and genuinely is the positive change she wants to see in our community.”

Another wrote, “I love the vibe Sara is bringing to Morning Meetings this year! The music is a great touch – it makes walking into the Library even more welcoming and sets a fun tone. And the affirmations or quotes she chooses always bring a smile to my face. ”

Junior Class President Kyla P. offered, “On a personal note, Sara is a big reason I play club soccer. She introduced me to the club I play for and even helped me prepare for the tryout. She drives me to practices when she can, and when I didn’t make the team I wanted, she assured me that it wasn’t the end, and now I am dual rostered with both teams! Outside of sports, she is a supportive friend to all and will do anything to get me and others through the day. When Stuart Hall flooded, she and Tashae’ were kind enough to let me stay in their room! No matter how her day is going, she will never let that affect how she treats you! Her consistency, honesty, and kindness make her one of those people who are truly rare! She is just a great human!”

Assistant Head of School Dr. Tanya Hyatt also shared reflections from nominations before announcing Jodi Campbell as the employee winner.

“Ms. Campbell really cares about the student community, which you see in her everyday work and in the empathy she demonstrates in a role that encompasses so much,” offered one colleague. “In extraordinary situations, she goes above and beyond as a compassionate and professional administrator with care and concern for our girls. Even when a student has not been her best self, Ms. Campbell always sees the best in them. She’ll laugh with you, she’ll cry with you, and she’ll do everything she can to lift up our students. That’s an everyday hero.”

Recently, she handled an unexpected flooding issue due to a burst pipe in Stuart Hall “with the most amazing grace and serenity,” noted another colleague. “She was the first on the scene, called parents about housing students, documented where students were going, called for a bed count in each dorm, called and led an all-school meeting, and stayed cool under some pretty intense pressure. Moving 30+ girls is no small feat, and she was amazing. It shows how much she cares about each girl here at Foxcroft.”

Congratulations, Sara and Ms. Campbell!
