Riley G. ’27 is Student of the Month for October!

Riley G. ’27 was announced as October's Student of the Month during Morning Meeting earlier this week.

Faculty members submitted nominations for students who have demonstrated excellence in their academic life at Foxcroft. The Student of the Month is not solely concerned with classroom performance — the award also recognizes students who contribute positively to the classroom environment, demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity, and take advantage of the full scope of Foxcroft's academic program.

Before presenting Riley with her award, English teacher Emma Cesar shared comments from the teachers who nominated her, including her own: “Riley has a perfect 100% in AP Language and Composition and intends to participate in the Frederick Douglass Oration Contest. She has been a model student since day one.”

Her Physics teacher offered: “Riley is the rare student who learns for the joy of learning. But her joy of learning doesn't end in the classroom. She also strives to learn about personal interests, be it robotics, musical instruments, tabletop card games, or varieties of seltzer water. She is a genuine pleasure to have in the classroom.”

“Riley always goes out of her way to practice using the target language during formative activities and goes above and beyond expectations for summative assessments and projects,” commended her French teacher. “She is quick to apply new grammar and vocabulary to her work, and her skill in the language is improving as a result of her efforts.”

Her Theater teacher shared, “Riley has discovered a passion and talent for lighting design. She has basically taught herself how to use our new Eos software and is responsible for the beautiful lighting in the Fall Revue.”

Congratulations, Riley!
