New Family Social Offers Fun and Fellowship

On July 12, Foxcroft welcomed 20 families to campus for the New Family Social, an event designed by the Admissions Office to connect new families to the campus, community, and one another.

Over the last four summers, this successful program has grown from nine families and mostly day students to this year’s attendees who traveled from as far away as California, Kentucky, and Texas.

This summer, the Office of Student Experience and Admission CAPs coordinated icebreaker activities with the new students, while the parents and staff broke into teams for two spirited rounds of an “Are You Smarter than a Foxcroft High Schooler?” trivia competition, emceed by History Department Chair Stephanie Young ‘00. The afternoon included ice cream sundaes, games in the Mary Louise Leipheimer Gym, and informal conversations with faculty, staff, and current parents. It concluded with a visit to the School Store for the all-important Foxcroft gear to kick off the school year.
