Local Author Katrina Balding Bills Visits with Foxcroft Students

Local author Katrina Balding Bills visited Foxcroft on Wednesday, September 17, for the second Audrey Bruce Currier Library visiting author event for students.

Bills discussed with students her inspiration and process in writing and publishing Dragon: The Story of a Fiery Thoroughbred and the Girl Who Loved Him (Bills, 2019). She also spoke about the challenges, triumphs, and tribulations of her 30-year journey with Fancy Fella (aka the Dragon), engaging students to reflect on their own goals, challenges, successes, and innovations.

Bills, a Sweet Briar College graduate, shared this wisdom with students refined through her educational and professional background, and lifelong dedication to equestrian sports. She is a member and officer of the Snickersville Hounds, a local foxhunting club.

The first Audrey Bruce Currier Library author visit was in May 2025 with L.M. Elliott, author of Truth, Lies, and the Questions in Between (Little, Brown and Company, Hachette Book Group, 2025).
