Lifelong Learning in Action

When it comes to the School’s tenet of encouraging lifelong learners, Foxcroft faculty and staff lead by example. From earning new certifications to sharing insights at professional conferences, and more, they ensure our students and school benefit from the most knowledgeable leaders in their fields.

The following are some of the most recent examples:

Catherine Massar, Associate Dean of Student Experience, received a Certificate in School Management and Leadership through a four-course program – Leading People, Leading Change, Leading Learning, and Leading School Strategy and Innovation – offered by the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School online.        

Regan Antila, Director of the Learning Center, received a Certificate in Learning Differences and Neurodiversity, with a Specialization in Executive Function, after completing courses through Landmark College online. Antila also attended the 2025 Make Math Moments Virtual Summit and is participating in an online course, “Dyscalculia Tutor Training Basic 1-1,” to be completed in May 2026. 

Jodi Campbell, Dean of Students, co-presented a session titled “A Comprehensive Approach for Supporting Student Mental Health” with Nance Roy, Chief Clinical Officer at The Jed Foundation, at the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Regional Symposium in Bethesda, MD, on February 6, 2026. 

Karin Thorndike, Fine Arts Teacher and Theater Program Director, was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Washington, DC Award – Best Scenic Design of a Play or Musical (Non-Professional) for her work on Arsenic & Old Lace at the StageCoach Theatre in Ashburn, VA. 

Alex Barrett, French Teacher, attended the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) annual convention in New Orleans, LA, in late November 2025. 

Ranata Davis, Dean of Inclusive Excellence, attended the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Regional Symposium in Bethesda, MD, on February 6, 2026.

Heather Whisenant, Major Gifts Officer, and Abigail Hanson, Assistant Director of Annual Giving, both attended the CASE-NAIS Independent Schools Conference in Seattle, WA, in late January 2026.
