Foxcroft Riding Program Hosts Third In-House Horse Show of the Series

Fortunately, Mother Nature kept the weather at bay so that students, families, and prospective students could enjoy a fantastic day of competition! A group of 19 riders competed in four divisions ranging from walk-trot to 2’6” hunters and jumpers. 

Riders in the first division were invited to warm up beginning at 9am with the judged competition beginning at 9:30am. Local professional Katie Petronelli was our judge for the day, and she awarded prizes from first through sixth place for each class. Champion and Reserve Champion honors were also announced after each division, and students were invited to our Winner’s Circle for photo opportunities in front of Schoolhouse. 

All of our competitors were returning to the show ring after getting their feet wet at either one or both of the Fall In-House Shows, so they came focused and ready to showcase their hard work from the winter season. All of their dedication to the finer details of their technique and the impressive progress they have shown throughout the year allowed for more challenging courses and some variation in jump height in each division.

Student helpers were, again, an important part of the success and smooth running of the show. They helped video and photograph each student, polished boots, passed out ribbons, and helped as “jump crew.” They also served as hosts for several prospective families who were invited to come spectate as a part of our Accepted Students Day. All of the Foxcroft riding instructors were proud of the ambassadors, both mounted and unmounted, of our program!
