Foxcroft Riders Soar at Swan Lake November Harvest Classic

Foxcroft Riders Soar at Swan Lake November Harvest Classic

The Foxcroft Riding Program was back in action from November 6-9 in Littlestown, PA, at the November Harvest Classic at Swan Lake Stables. Nine riders and their horses competed in this Premier Rated Horse Show, and all of our students came home with well-earned ribbons, including three tricolors.

Hunter riders Maddie K. ’26, Sammie M. ’27, Addy E. ’29, and Sienna F. ’29 competed in classes ranging from 2’-2’9” Thursday through Saturday. Sammie continued to make confident strides in the 2’9” hunters, ribboning in a tough division as the only junior rider in a field of professionals. Addy enjoyed piloting Foxcroft’s own Caspian 4 in the 2’ and 2’3” classes and earned impressive ribbons, including a win in a large 2’3” Modified Hunter Division, helping her to secure the Reserve Champion honors. Sienna had fun riding her relatively new partner, “Artistry,” in the 2’6” hunters and added more than one top-three finish and an 8th-place Classic ribbon to the Foxcroft banner. Senior Maddie transitioned from the jumpers to the hunters on one of Foxcroft’s most recent donation horses, “Belle Èpoque,” who is only 8 years old and has limited horse show miles. Maddie rode her smoothly and confidently to the win in one of the Low Children’s Hunters classes with a score of 83 and took home 3rd place in the combined Low Children’s and Adult Hunter Classic out of a huge group!

Foxcroft jumper riders Julia L. ’26, Fiona J. ’27, Isabela D. ’28, Ava B. ’29, and Grace O. ’29 had fun cruising around the large Grand Prix ring on Saturday and Sunday. Fiona learned a ton in the 0.60m jumpers on Foxcroft’s “Pourdire” and finished the weekend as the Reserve Champion at her first off-campus jumper show! Julia and her powerful, but sweet mare, “Miss Steak,” demonstrated consistent technique and rode with a plan to finish second in the 0.70m Classic and took home several other top-three finishes. Ava was smooth and stylish on “Intac Del Maset” and clinched the Championship honors in the 0.70m jumpers. Grace and Foxcroft alumna Irene B. ’24’s “Pablo” continued to make productive strides in the 0.80m jumpers, and Isabela and her own “Pinecroft Excalibur” gained valuable miles in the 0.90m jumpers.

The Foxcroft riders demonstrated incredible teamwork and support throughout the weekend and left their instructors delighted at their hard work and enthusiasm, both in and out of the saddle.
