A Showcase of Fine Arts During Arts Week

It all started with a burst of visual arts beaming throughout Schoolhouse. Exhibits first popped up in the basement, enticing voters to select their favorite amongst a competitive collection of Science Photography Contest entries, including a new bonus category, “Girl Energy,” that reflects the essence of Foxcroft’s new branding initiatives. On the main floor, exhibits ranged from photography, ceramics, drawing, and painting, with Senior Solo Shows featuring bodies of work by the Class of 2025.

The Audrey Bruce Currier Library also boasted a regular Morning Meeting routine change. On Tuesday, the whole school participated in a gallery walk to take in the visual arts, and then a talented troupe of performing artists, including vocalists, dancers, and instrumentalists, elicited enthusiastic cheers on Friday morning. 

Two afternoons were also set aside for this year’s Festival of Arts Workshops to allow students the freedom and flexibility to engage in an art activity of their choosing. A wide gamut of offerings was hosted by club leaders, enthusiastic artists, and interested faculty members who provided instruction in bee box painting, clothing upcycling, dance charades, cultural collages, and so much more. 

Arts Week concluded with a brilliant rendition of the musical, Little Women. The audience was captivated by the brilliant costuming, powerful songs, and touching storyline. Everyone left the week feeling inspired, entertained, and reinvigorated with awe and appreciation for all art forms — a special thank you to everyone who made this week such a huge success.
