Fall Fun at Foxcroft Open House!

Fall Fun at Foxcroft Open House!

On Monday, November 11, Foxcroft welcomed over 60 visitors from places as far away as Nigeria and as close as Middleburg for an exciting day at our annual Fall Open House!

The day began with a warm welcome in the Dining Hall, where our Admission and Administrative teams greeted families before they joined CAPs, Foxcroft’s student ambassador group, for a campus tour. The morning was filled with energy as the entire campus gathered in the Library for Morning Meeting. The Soggie Cheerios and Jam Band serenaded guests and students alike with live music, filling the room with school spirit and setting a joyful tone for the day.

While students participated in a lively history lesson with faculty members Patti Mora ’95 and Erika Page — an experience designed to showcase the focus on interdisciplinary learning and collaboration at the core of a Foxcroft education — parents gathered for back-to-back sessions with our leadership team. Head of School Cathy McGehee opened with an inspiring presentation on our Mission, Values, and Promises, setting the stage for a faculty panel. In the panel, School leaders Jodi Campbell, Ranta Davis, Tanya Hyatt, Steve McCarty, and Michelle Woodruff shared insights into academics, student life, and Foxcroft’s community-focused approach, answering questions and engaging in meaningful conversations with parents.

Afterward, parents and students joined together to explore our vibrant campus clubs at the Fall Club Carnival on Schoolhouse lawn. Visitors and students connected over games, sharing stories, laughter, and building new friendships. Meriwether Godsey provided a delicious lunch, and everyone enjoyed warm, fresh apple cider donuts from Mama's Donut Bites — a seasonal treat that added to the cozy, autumnal vibe.

To end the day, families interested in our renowned equestrian program enjoyed an optional barn tour led by Associate Directors of Riding Kendall Bear and Allie Pelz. Here, they met our beloved horses, got a behind-the-scenes look at our facilities, and experienced firsthand the passion and care that define our riding community.

With smiles all around, the day was a true celebration of Foxcroft’s close-knit community, and we can’t wait to welcome more prospective families at our next Open House on January 18!
