EP Eventer Claire K. '27 Focuses on Her Form and Her Future

Claire K. ’27 is an experienced rider and accomplished eventer, whose participation in Foxcroft’s Exceptional Proficiency (EP) program gives her the flexibility and academic support needed to be able to train and compete off-campus.

Claire recently shared some of her successes and her goals for the future.

How long have you been riding/eventing?

I have been riding since I was four, but I started eventing two years ago.

Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.

I recently got back from the Florida season, where I spent three months competing in Ocala. I also moved up a training level and finished in second place at my first training.

How has Foxcroft's EP Program supported your journey?

It allows me to have my car on campus and makes it very easy for me to go and ride whenever I can! Mrs. Massar has been a huge help with figuring out my schedule and always supporting me, no matter what.

What has been your proudest moment (or moments) so far?

I have stepped up my riding by trying harder in dressage, so I am normally in the top three.

What's next?

I need to work on a stronger connection with my horse in show jumping. He is very good at it, but I get nervous, so a lot of practice! If I work on this, then we will be able to start the Modified by the end of the year and hopefully do our first FEI in the upcoming Florida season.
