Eliška K. ’27 is Student of the Month for November!

Eliška K. ’27 was announced as Student of the Month during Morning Meeting last Friday.

Faculty members submitted nominations for students who have demonstrated excellence in their academic life at Foxcroft. The Student of the Month is not solely concerned with classroom performance — the award also recognizes students who contribute positively to the classroom environment, demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity, and take advantage of the full scope of Foxcroft's academic program.

Before presenting Eliška with her award, Spanish teacher Esther Sánchez shared comments from the teachers who nominated her, including her own: “Eliška is the type of student who takes her learning very seriously. She is always prepared, focused, and engaged in class, and her performance in Spanish is pretty close to perfect. She is an amazing Spanish student.”

From her chemistry teacher: “Eliška is a model of consistency; she always turns her work in on time and gives it her best effort. But what is most impressive is her growth mindset. She set a personal goal to be more active in class discussions, and she has truly stepped up to make that happen!”

“Eliška comes to class prepared, participates actively, and takes on leadership roles during group work,” shared her English teacher. “She did an excellent job guiding her book club group and building on their ideas, demonstrating active listening and embodying a true spirit of collaboration. Her analytical and empathetic questions about the characters and themes in Of Mice and Men reflected thoughtful engagement with the text and strong reading comprehension.”

Her Geometry teacher offered, “Eliška has fully adjusted to the self-paced model and always stays focused during class! I was amazed by her detailed note-taking. She has perfected all of her skills and even revisited her minor mistakes to ensure continuous improvement. She is truly a diligent and proactive student!”

“Eliška is always on top of AP Biology in terms of getting her work done and understanding the material, and she's positive and patient in class,” wrote her AP Biology teacher. “She's also one of my new lab interns this year, and has already demonstrated her helpfulness, which is much appreciated!”

Praise from her History teacher included: “Eliška demonstrates excellent engagement in U.S. History, both inside and outside the classroom. During lessons, she is always focused and asks insightful questions about the material. After class, she always completes her homework thoroughly and comes prepared for discussion in the next period. She completed a terrific project on Ona Judge before Thanksgiving break. She had clearly done her research and created a very informative biographical poster.”

 Congratulations, Eliška!
