Dorm Prefects and Whips Announced!

Dorm Prefects are senior student leaders. Their role is to assist the Dorm Team members in promoting a positive living community for each dorm. They serve as mentors to the Whips in their dorm; they plan and lead dorm meetings and parties, promote our community values, and support and reinforce community expectations such as study hall, dorm check, and bedtimes. Prefects offer support to the girls in the dorm, assisting them with peer relations, conflict management, and life’s stressors. Their training will also require them to focus on higher-level skill development, conflict resolution and mediation, healthy coping skills, and belonging and inclusion.

Dorm Whips are junior or senior student leaders who apply and are selected for this vital community role. They are, essentially, “Prefects-in-Training.” Their primary role is to assist the Dorm Team members and prefects in promoting a positive living community for each dorm, serving as role models and mentors to their peers. In addition to helping with dorm meetings and parties, they also reinforce community expectations during study hall, dorm check, and bedtimes. Whips also offer socio-emotional support to the girls in the dorm, assisting them with peer relations, conflict management, and managing life’s stressors.
