Building Connections and Excitement: New Family Social Welcomes Incoming Students and Families
Last Sunday, July 20, Foxcroft welcomed students, parents, guardians, siblings, and friends to campus for the annual New Family Social!
The Admission Office was supported by members of the administrative team and faculty as they welcomed 19 incoming families to campus, building excitement for the new school year, answering questions, and fostering connections between the newest members of our community. Director of Enrollment and Community Engagement Trey Adams welcomed the new students and families before introducing Head of School Dr. Lisa Kaenzig, who is new to the Foxcroft community as well.
“It's a pretty extraordinary global community that we have here,” shared Dr. Kaenzig. “We have amazing connections in the classroom with our faculty, who are extraordinary people. They really care about knowing every girl — knowing your name, what your strengths are, the areas you're wanting to work on… knowing you; knowing much more than your name or where you come from, but really getting to know who you are as a person.”
After welcome remarks from Dr. Kaenzig, incoming students met several student leaders and enjoyed games facilitated by the Office of Student Life, including an icebreaker game and a rousing rendition of “Fox, Fox, Hound” (think Foxcroft’s version of “Duck, Duck, Goose”), which got girls moving and laughing. Parents and family members got to know the School's administrative team through an informal Q&A session before everyone reconvened in the gym, sharing conversation, charcuterie, and beverages. The afternoon concluded with informal games of cornhole, pickleball, ping pong, and axe throwing.
We are excited to "SEE" all our new families again at the virtual New Family meet-up over Zoom on August 7!
