Alexa Patrick Announced as Foxcroft’s 2026 Paul K. Bergan Visiting Poet

Foxcroft is excited to welcome Alexa Patrick as Visiting Poet for the 2026 Paul K. Bergan Poetry Festival. Patrick will share her poetry with the School community on Friday, April 3.

A vocalist and poet from Connecticut, and the author of Remedies for Disappearing, Patrick holds fellowships from Cave Canem, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and more. Previous artistic partnerships include Meta, Microsoft, The Kennedy Center, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. In spring 2023, Patrick made her stage production debut as Un/Sung in the opera We Shall Not Be Moved (dire. Bill T. Jones). You may find her work in publications including Adroit, The Rumpus, CRWN Magazine, and The BreakBeat Poets Vol. 2.

Named in honor of beloved former English teacher Paul K. Bergan, this event has brought a variety of established poets to campus over the years as part of the School's annual Speaker Series. The Poetry Festival features an Open Mic and Slam, a recitation from the Visiting Poet, and a full day of workshops.
