Before the Class of 2026 graduated in May, Director of Instructional Riding Kate Worsham sat down with Valeska F. ’26, an Exceptional Proficiency rider whose journey took her from an advanced beginner level rider her freshman year to her senior year where she was the recipient of Miss Charlotte’s trophy, awarded to the “Best Older Girl” by the Riding Department; an honor that was well earned and received with humility and gratitude.

Foxcroft riders continue to represent the School with excellent riding, horsemanship, and sportsmanship at local competitions, including the Upperville Jumper 4 Fun show and the Loudoun Benefit Horse Show.

At the end of June, a Foxcroft delegation of administrators and teaching faculty joined champions of all-girls education from across the globe for the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools (ICGS) Global Forum. Held in Toronto, Canada, the event connected more than 600 educators, researchers, and leaders from ICGS’ member schools, which include 580 girls’ schools representing 25 countries. Participants shared their expertise, learned new strategies to bring back to the classroom or office, and drew inspiration for the impactful work of educating girls.

Claire K. ’27 is an experienced rider and accomplished eventer whose participation in Foxcroft’s Exceptional Proficiency (EP) program gives her the flexibility and academic support needed to be able to train and compete off-campus.
