Recognizing her extraordinary efforts that benefit the entire Foxcroft community and the School as an institution, Executive Assistant to the Head of School Julia Jackson was awarded the 2025 Jane Lockhart Service Award by Head of School Cathy McGehee on Thursday, May 29. She is the 14th recipient of the Award.
For her dedication to supporting students’ needs and truly exemplifying Foxcroft’s educational philosophy that “every student is known and valued,” Director of the Learning Center Regan Antila received the Mary Louise Leipheimer Excellence in Teaching Award from Head of School Cathy McGehee on Thursday, May 29 at the School’s annual Awards Assembly.
The Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) recognized three independent school teachers from across Virginia at its Empowering Excellence Annual Conference at St. Christopher’s School in Richmond. Before an audience of more than three hundred educators, VAIS named the following teachers the 2024 Innovation in Education Award winners: Brittany Austin, Fredericksburg Academy; Alison McDonald, Alexandria Country Day School; and Foxcroft’s own Co-Director of STEAM Education, Fine Arts Department Chair, and Yearbook Advisor Julie Fisher.
Director of The Innovation Lab and history teacher Alex Northrup was selected as a delegate to participate in a geography education conference and field study in Seoul in June 2024, then returned to South Korea in September for a seminar in Busan.
