Foxcroft Partners with Artists in Middleburg for Student Photography Exhibit
Foxcroft’s new Arts Weekend, scheduled for April 27-29, will be a wonderful celebration of our community’s creativity and talent in the fine and performing arts. (Watch for details of the weekend in next week’s newsletter).
The celebration of our girls’ talent, though, is getting an early start. Digital Arts Instructor Julie Fisher is excited to announce a student photography exhibit, "FOCUS! Arts in Education," held in partnership with Artists in Middleburg (AiM). The show will be on display at AiM's gallery in Middleburg beginning Saturday, April 7 and running through Sunday, May 6. Here is more about the exhibit from Mrs. Fisher, along with a copy of the invitation, which we hope you will share with photography enthusiasts who might enjoy the exhibit:
Artists in Middleburg is a unique non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together a community of artists and to supporting arts in education. This seemed like a perfect venue to promote our girls and our wonderful arts program. I met with the owner, Sandy Danielson, and together we enthusiastically arranged a student exhibition.
All of my photography students, 28 in total, are involved in this exhibition process. Each girl selected an image she captured within the past year to prepare for display. Students created their own exhibition labels, and then signed, editioned, framed, and will hang their own artwork. These 28 limited-edition prints will be for sale for the duration of the exhibit. Ms. Danielson also invited other local schools to participate and celebrate the incredible talents of our youth.
The Artists in Middleburg gallery is graciously donating 100% of the sales back to the schools to support their individual art programs. Our goal is to continue exhibiting annually so that future photography students can benefit from this experience each and every year.
Please join us on Saturday, April 7, from 2-4pm for the Opening Reception, and enjoy the wonderful work of our students!
