Walking for a Cause

Junior Class Walkathon this Friday

Please join us this Friday, March 28, as the Class of 2015 leads walkers, runners, and cyclists in the annual Junior Class Walkathon. Through their solicitation of charitable contributions from businesses, family, and friends, the Class has launched an ongoing fundraising campaign in support of their chosen cause, Polaris Project. Friday’s Walkathon is the culmination of eight months of work in which members of the Class selected and researched their cause, initiated contact and developed a relationship with the foundation, and presented educational sessions during Morning Meeting. Their fundraising for the cause continues with personal solicitations to parents, family, neighbors, and local businesses.

If you live in the area, we encourage you -- especially parents of juniors -- to support this effort by walking with the Class, which will be joined by much of the Foxcroft community and guests! Walkers will gather this Friday at 3:30pm outside Brick House and the 3.5-mile trek will depart shortly thereafter.
No matter where you live, please consider sponsoring your daughter with a tax-deductible donation! Checks payable to The Polaris Project may be mailed to: Walkathon 2014; Foxcroft School; P.O. Box 5555; Middleburg, VA 20118 or given to members of the Class. Online donations of any size are welcome and can be made through the Polaris Project Class Page.

The money donated to the Polaris Project wil be used directly by the non-profit, not filtered out to other organizations, a point emphasized by juniors Meredith, Madeline, and Hannah at Morning Meeting this week. Each dollar raised goes into efforts to seek out individuals who are victims of human trafficking and to rehabilitate those who have been rescued. The Polaris Project's comprehensive approach to combatting human trafficking earned it Charity Navigator's highest ranking of four stars for the fourth consecutive year.

Thank you for your support of the Junior Class's earnest efforts as the girls pursue this "Giving Back" opportunity.
