Varsity co-captain Shannon '07 was named to the All-Independent League Basketball Team, coach Matt Cascio announced Monday.

Shannon, a four-year letter-winner from Purcellville, VA, averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds per game. She grabbed more than 10 rebounds in nine different games and notched a "double-double" (double-digits in points and rebounds) in six games.

The ISL is a challenging girls' scholastic athletic conference composed of independent schools in and around Washington, DC. Foxcroft fought to a 3-14 record this season, beating the Model School in a play-in game before falling to eventual Division A champion National Cathedral School in the first-round of the league tournament.

The announcement capped a good week for Shannon, who also was named "A Future Leader of Loudoun" by the Loudoun Times-Mirror on Wednesday (Feb. 28) and led her Hound Team to victory in the traditional FoxHound intramural "Big Game" Saturday.
