Margaret '11 has been accepted into the prestigious Virginia Governor’s School for the Humanities this summer, Academic Dean Alexander O. Northrup announced recently.
The Summer Governor’s Schools are highly-selective institutes for gifted 10th and 11th-graders sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education and held at university campuses in Virginia.
Margaret is one of just 200 students statewide invited to spend four weeks at the University of Richmond for the Humanities school. This program offers a broad-based, interdisciplinary presentation of courses designed to give students a chance to explore how society requires, encourages, and restricts individuals as they seek realization of their creative potential.
An outstanding rider as well as student, Margaret received the Harvard Book Award during a year-end award ceremony.
