Riders put on terrific IEA Show, the first at Foxcroft
Freshman Mary Shannon S. and sophomore Ashley D. each earned a first and a third and Foxcroft riders won ribbons in 25 of their 28 rides Sunday in the first Interscholastic Equestrian Association Meet ever held on campus.
Foxcroft tied Madeira School for fourth place among eight teams with 21 point each, but was dropped to fifth by a complicated tiebreaker procedure. Meadowbrook Stables won the team competition, with 37 points, followed by Garrison Forest School (34)_ and Rose Mount Farm (22). In IEA shows, coaches must choose one "points" rider for each class before the draw, during which riders are randomly assigned horses for each competition. All rides, however, count to each rider's individual reecord and, Director of Riding Kate Worsham said Monday, a number of Foxcroft rirers are well on their way to qualifying for regional finals.
Along with Ashley and Mary Shannon, seniors Mckenzie C. Allie D., and Kim K., juniors Annabelle B and Shea V., sophomores Mniranda, G., Meredith K, and Hannah G., and freshman DeeDee Q. each collected two ribbons. For complete results, click below.
