Rhema Crowley and Norman King Honored for Service to the School

Head of School Mary Louise Leipheimer paid tribute to commitment and service Friday by honoring longtime employees Norman King and Rhema Crowley at the annual awards assembly held on the eve of Commencement.
Norman, who served the School for 45 years before retiring as stable manager last September, received a Foxcroft chair -- his second -- and a special plaque that will be placed in a location of his choosing at the Jean du Pont McConnell Stables on campus. The plaque reads, in part, “In recognition of 45 years of extraordinary service as a trusted horseman and friend.”

“You, Norman, made a difference in the lives of all you touched -- human and equine,” said Mary Lou. “You will be forever a Foxcroft legend.”
A resident of Manassas, he received his first chair upon completion of 25 years of service; it was that impressive milestone for which Rhema, a longtime Hamilton resident, was honored.

“The Academic Office, the Development Office, the College Counseling Office, the Office of Student Life -- all have flourished with the steady hand of Rhema Crowley,” said Mary Lou. “Please accept this chair for a quarter century of wonderful work.”
