Lacrosse to host State tournament game Tuesday!

For perhaps the first time ever, Foxcroft will host a state tournament game tomorrow! The Varsity Lacrosse team, ranked fourth in the state among Virginia Independent School Athletic Association Division II teams, will play Fredericksburg Academy Tuesday in the first round of the VISAA Division II State Championships. The game begins at 4pm on the Lower Field of the girls college preparatory school campus in Middleburg, VA.
The winner of the game advances to the semifinals, against either top-ranked Cape Henry Collegiate or 8th-seeded Trinity Christian. That semifinal game will be played 4pm Friday at the Powhatan Complex at Old Dominion University. The Division II Championship Game is scheduled for 1pm on Saturday, also at ODU.

Foxcroft, 9-4 and second in the Delaney Athletic Conference, has beaten conference rival Fredericksburg Academy twice this season. They defeated FA 8-5 on April 20 in Fredericksburg and 10-9 on April 25 in Middleburg.

"We are very excited to be hosting a state tournament game," said Athletic Director Michelle Woodruff. "It will be an terrific event."
