Strong Comeback Falls Short

A furious second-half comeback by Foxcroft fell just a bit short as St. John School, a church team from Front Royal comprised of all-star players, scored a 44-38 victory in a non-conference game at Engelhard Gym.

St. John, which had a very strong outside shooting club, connected on five 3-point attempts in the first half and built a commanding 35-16 lead at intermission.

But Foxcroft refused to fold and put on a strong finish by outscoring St. John, 15-4, in the final quarter to narrowly pull out the game.

Junior Kat F. was the star for Foxcroft, grabbing a school record 21 rebounds and scoring 12 points. Junior Alex G. finished with 15 points and junior Pipsy S. had eight, six of them coming in the final period.
