Two 12-run Innings Spoil Home Opener

Foxcroft played for the first time on its home field, including practices, and struggled to find any kind of rhythm on defense in a 27-15 loss to Delaney Athletic Conference rival Randolph-Macon Academy.

R-MA put together two 12-run innings to offset an 11-run frame by Foxcroft and the game was mercifully called by the umpires after four innings because of the late hour. The game began at 4:30 p.m. but no inning is allowed to start later than 7 p.m.

Two costly errors led to 12 unearned R-MA runs in the first inning but Foxcroft fought back to score 11 runs in the third inning to crawl within 15-13 before surrendering another 12-run barrage to R-MA in the fourth.

Jennifer '14 paced Foxcroft with two hits and two RBI and Vivian '14 scored three times. Faith '14 also drove in two runs.
