The Foxcroft Swim Team placed thirteenth in its first appearance at the ISL Championships, held at the Holton-Arms School on Friday, February 1st. The Foxcroft team, which had limited pool time in this, its first season, scored in two relays against a very competitive field.  The 200-meter Medley Relay Team of Meghan '10, Alessandra '09, Mackenzie '10 and Megan W. '11 took 12th place and the 400-meter Freestyle Relay Team of Adele '09, Irene '10, Effie '11 and Lauren '10 was 11th.

Individually, Meghan T. led the team with a 17th-place finish in the 500 free and a 14th-place finish out of 36 swimmers in the 200 freestyle. She drastically improved her times in both events, shaving just over four seconds from her 200 freestyle and an impressive 16.26 seconds off of her 500 freestyle entry time.

Many other swimmers recorded a personal best at the meet including the following improvements:
  • Mackenzie '10 dropped 1.77 seconds in 200 Individual Medley and 6.96 seconds in the 100 fly.
  • Lauren '10 bested her 50 free time by .52 seconds and her 100 free time by 5.85 seconds.
  • Adele '09 posted a new personal record in 100 back, improving by 2.90 seconds.
  • Tess '11 continued the backstroke improvements by cutting 5.92 seconds off her best time.
  • Molly '08 finished out her senior season with an impressive drop of 5.76 seconds off her 50 free time.
  • Most improved for the meet, however, goes to Shelly '10 who dropped an unprecedented 10.10 seconds off her best time in 100 breaststroke!
The team showed incredible heart and determination in this meet and has inspired the two coaches all season.
A HUGE thank you to all the parents and fans who came out to the championships!
