Foxcroft Senior Named Future Leader of Clarke County

Sarah S., a senior from Millwood, VA, bound for Duke University next fall, was recently named one of seven "Future Leaders of Clarke County" by the Clarke Times-Courier.

Selected by a community panel, Sarah and the other young leaders were cited for "living a life of meaning and purpose" and realizing " that they can use their passions and interests to influence the future."

In the article that appeared in the March 21 issue of the Times-Courier, Sarah named Celeste Bergan, head of Foxcroft's Science Department and Sarah's freshman biology teacher as her hero.

"I respect that Mrs. Bergan gives every girl who walks through her door a chance to find courage in the classrroom and a love for learning," Sarah said.

Sarah is co-head of Foxcroft Tutoring, Dean's Prefect (head library proctor) and student director of the Christmas Pageant. She plans to study Chinese and international relations in college.
