Fox-Hound and Whippers In contests complete riding year
Foxcroft's talented riders got to demonstrate their prowess to the school community two days in a row this week. On Wednesday (May 17), 30 girls competed in the Fox-Hound Equitation Competition in the McConnell Riding Hall and on Thursday the 10 members of Whippers In contended with a challenging jumping course in the outdoor ring.
For the second straight year, Alex P. '06 won the Whippers In competition. she was one of a very few riders to have a clean ride on a breezy afternoon that stirred horse-spooking flags on several jumps. Emily E. '07, who also made it through the course cleanly, placed second, followed by Michelle '06 and Caitlin M. '07.
In Wednesday's Fox-Hound competition, The Hounds completed their sweep of the year's intramural contests, scoring 25 points to the Foxes' -21.5. Jordan '07 and her older sister, Alex P., took first and third, respectively, for the Hounds in the Big Team class. Julie '06 placed second and Caitlin '07 finished fourth for the Foxes.
