Chelsy '08 named All-Everything in Field Hockey!

Returning Player of the Year Chelsy '08 missed several games and Foxcroft School’s Field Hockey Team didn’t have its best season but the senior’s talent is so abundant that she collected an unprecedented array of post-season honors anyway.
Chelsy, who has committed to play field hockey at Michigan State University next fall, has been named First Team All State by the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association and First Team All Met by the Washington Post, Foxcroft School Athletic Director Katie Ryan Kantz announced Monday. Chelsy is believed to be the first Foxcroft player, in any sport, named to these two prestigious teams.

The coaches of the prestigious Independent School League elected Chelsy to the All-Conference team for the third straight year earlier this fall and word is that she has also been named the Washington Post’s Loudoun Extra Field Hockey Player of the Year for the second straight year.

Although she missed several games with an ankle injury, Chelsy had a hand in 13 of Foxcroft’s 17 goals. She scored 9 times and assisted on 4 as the team struggled to a 6-10-2 season.

A three-sport athlete, Chelsy is a quick, versatile player and was recruited by a number of Division I universities, including Kent State University, where her older sister, Jessi '06, has been a key player for the past two falls.
