Brianna '13 featured in PA paper for service trip to New Orleans

Last summer, Brianna E.'14 spent a week in new Orleans helping those whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Last week, she told the Abington (PA) Lions Club members, who had helped fund the trip, all about the experience. That meeting is the subject of a wonderful story in the Abington Journal.

During the trip, organizaed by Rustic Pathways, Brianna spent mornings building walls, plastering and nailing to help rebuild two houses. The afternoons were devoted to learning about New Orleans culture and included visits to the old and new levees, Perservation Hall, the Superdome and more. Highlights included holding a baby alligator during a Mississippi boat ride and witnessing a New Orleans-style jazz funeral.

Rustic Pathways, which visits Foxcroft annually, offers worldwide travel and service opportunities for students. Other Foxcroft girls have traveled to Asia, Africa, and South America with the organization in recent years.,
