10 Fall athletes earn All-Conference honors

Ten Foxcroft School athletes, including five members of the perennially powerful field hockey team and three-time cross country honoree Jordan C., earned All-Delaney Athletic Conference honors this fall, Athletic Director Michelle Woodruff announced recently.

Delaney Athletic Conference (DAC) field hockey coaches named senior co-captain Meredith B., sophomore Olivia Jane and freshman Lilly M., to the league’s First Team after they led the team to a second-place finish in the DAC. Senior Michelle L. and junior Maeve earned honorable mention in field hockey.

Jordan, a senior who had never run cross-country before coming to Foxcroft two years ago, captured her third consecutive First Team All-DAC honor with an 11th-place finish in the conference championship, held at Foxcroft on Nov. 5. Freshman Kate E. also earned First Team mention with a stunning fourth place finish in the meet.

In other sports, junior volleyball standouts Alex C. and Caroline H. and tennis stalwart Claire C. were honored. Foxcroft’s setter and most consistent player, Alex was named First Team after recording an impressive team-leading 268 assists in 11 games. Caroline, who transferred from Bishop O’Connell High, led the team in digs with 141 and earned Honorable Mention. The DAC tennis coaches selected Claire, tabbed the “super sophomore” by coach Frank Taylor, for honorable mention as well.
