Elizabeth teaches upper level Spanish and coaches varsity volleyball at Foxcroft. Both Spanish and volleyball have been passions of hers all her life. She chose to attend Furman University in order to pursue them both. There she majored in Spanish and played two years of Varsity Volleyball. Thanks to a Furman program, she was able to travel for the first time to Spain, where her love of the Spanish language grew enormously. She has since traveled through Spain several times including a one-year stint during which she earned her M.A. in Spanish language and linguistics from Middlebury College.

One of Elizabeth's areas of interest in language studies is phonetics and pronunciation. After completing an independent study with phonetics expert Soledad Luque Delgado, she was published in the Gaceta Hispánica. Her primary research was in the instruction of correct Spanish pronunciation at the high school level in English-speaking countries. She uses her published curriculum in her classes at Foxcroft.

Elizabeth is originally from Nashville, TN. She enjoys spending time with her parents, her two brothers, and the family’s dog, Grace. She also enjoys reading, singing, and playing in recreational volleyball leagues.
