Mens sana in corpore sano -- a healthy mind in a healthy body -- is one of Foxcroft's founding principles and the School has integrated athletics and fitness into daily life since long before Title IX and the ascent of women's sports. Each student is required to participate in a structured physical activity during the fall, winter and spring seasons. She may choose to play interscholastic sports, participate in any of a variety of P.E. classes or ride. Sophomores are required to take Health Class for one season; this may be fulfill the P.E. requirement.  

Interscholastic teams compete in the Delaney Athletic Conference and several participate in the VISAA state competitions each year. Physical Education offerings, which classes, which vary from season to season and year to year, provide students the opportunity to improve their aerobic and anaerobic capacities in a non-competitive venue. The nationally-renown Riding Program accommodates all levels of ability and discipllines.

2010-11 Program Offerings 
Fall Season:
Cross Country, Field Hockey (Varsity and JV); Tennis (Varsity and JV); Volleyball (Varsity and JV); P.E. Fitness; Sophomore Health Class; Riding.

Winter Season: Basketball (Varsity and JV); Rock Climbing; P.E. Fitness; Indoor Lacrosse, Soccer and/or Softball (depending upon interest); Dance; Cheerleading; Sophomore Health Class; Riding.

Spring Season: Lacrosse (Varsity and JV); Softball; Soccer (Varsity and JV); P.E. Fitness; Sophomore Health Class; Riding.
