Eventers compete in Middleburg Trials and Equitation Team is named

It was a hectic week for Foxcroft's Riding Program with a mock meet to select equitation team members on Friday, a morning of "cubbing" with the Middleburg Hunt Saturday and the Eventing Team's first competition of the year Sunday.

Director of Riding Nelly Sheehan and Assistant Director Laurie Feickert announced the members of the 2009-10 Equitation Team at Monday's Morning Meeting. Seniors Lillibet and Rachel were named captains while Katherine '10 and Abby '11 were selected to be the team's managers. Also at Monday's Morning meeting, Rebecca '10 reported on the eventers' first outing, competing in the Novice Division of the Middleburg Horse Trials at Glenwood Park. Freshman Charlotte, on Elvis, led the five Foxcroft riders. She was fourth after dressage and finished sixth overall. Complete results follow.

Foxcroft riders also took 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th places at the Horse Trials. Senior Rebecca and G.Q. stood 10th after dressage and had clear rides in cross-country and stadium jumping to finish 8th. Malia '10, riding Dutch, was 7th after dressage and placed 10th, followed by Kasey '13, on Petey, and Hailey '10 on Molly.
