Cameron
Class of 2007
At first, running a mile was difficult but Cameron built endurance and strength, found a personal pace, figured out what motivated her -- and was hooked. At the banquet, she received MVP honors for Cross-Country and the Sportsmanship Award for Track and Field. By Commencement, she had connected with future classmates at the University of Michigan and signed up for an intramural soccer team. Over the summer, she ran eight miles five times a week. “I’ve become an endorphin junkie,” she admits.

Cameron says her senior-year sports experience is reflective of Foxcroft. “Each person was encouraged to perform to the best of her ability; not to some standard established by others,” she says. “At Foxcroft, the emphasis is on competing with oneself, so each student can achieve at her highest potential as opposed to having the pressure of competing with others. It’s pretty empowering.”
