One was the sports experience. I made friends and I have fallen in love with soccer again. Not only did I get to play on the same soccer team with Emma (which we never got to do before), I also got a lot of playing time even as a freshman. Because of this experience, I have been inspired to start an intramural soccer competition next year with my friend, Alison. We are planning to model it after the World Cup Competition with each dorm fielding a team. At Foxcroft, something like this is easy to start up -- you just need an idea, some passion for the activity, and permission from the Dean of Students.
You might not believe this one, but it’s true. For me, Study Hall was another unexpected good surprise. It is a designated time to do your homework, and even though it annoys me while I’m in it, I am thankful for those two hours that I spend working hard on my homework without disruption. Plus, my teachers are just an email or phone call away if I have questions.
My experience at Foxcroft is helping me prepare for college and beyond by giving me good study habits, lots of leadership opportunities, and the self-confidence to try new things.
