Foxcroft uses its extensive technology to enhance the educational process and as a means of communication both within and outside the community. More than 200 computers and 22 wireless hubs in three computer labs, Schoolhouse, and the dormitories are available for student and faculty use. In dormitories, wireless hubs in the common rooms allow Internet access on school computers or student laptops. Internet access is not available in students' individual rooms. All students and faculty communicate on a school-wide network. Technology support is ably offered by the two members of the Technology Department who are available to students, faculty, and parents to answer technical questions and to offer assistance.
Every Foxcroft classroom is equipped with interactive electronic whiteboards, projectors and computers with CD/DVD drives, enhancing the learning experience in numerous ways.
Foxcroft School recognizes the incredible value of technology to the educational process and, at the same time, realizes that the misuse of technology can stand in the way of achieving our educational goals and hamper our efforts to maintain our community. Precautions are in place to protect the School's network. At the beginning of each school year, student computers are installed with the software needed to protect the network from external hazards. Students and their parents sign a Technology Contract indicating their understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with their use of the Foxcroft network.
